Logo Contest Winner Crowned
After months of receiving tons of awesome logos from everyone (which we are very thankful) we have finally decided on a winner. Well actually, Tom Curren chose the winning logo; that's right, Tom Curren.
While Tom was in and around Lawrencetown, we thought it was a cool idea to have the 3x world champ chose the winning logo for the contest that we had going on.

Win a Watercooled Longboard!
Kannon Beach would like to give you a new Watercooled Longboard, all you have to do is design us a new logo...
We are having a contest here at the shop. We need you to design a new logo for us. There are no real rules, just kind of a free for all. The contest is open to anyone, no age restrictions, we just want a kickass logo. We are looking for something that is distinguishable, radical, and not too complex. The contest starts as of right now, and will run through until August 31st, 2008, when we (the shop employees) will vote on the winner. Whats up for grabs you might ask? Well the answer is quite simple, a brand new Watercooled Longboard (valued at $849.99!!) will be awarded to the winner of the contest. These Watercooled longboards are favorites here at the shop, quoted as "riding like a dream" from numerous shop employees. They have the perfect combination of noseriding ability to go along with a high performance feel.

Tried, Tested and True
We here at the shop have been exclusively testing the new Xcel Drylock 5/4 over this winter. After much debate and many test runs on the absolute coldest of days, the 5/4 has proven to be just as warm, if not warmer in some cases. as its counterpart 6/5/4 Infiniti.
The main advantage that the new 5/4 Drylock provides is the weight and flexibility that the 6/5/4 does not have. "When trying both of the suits, one after another, you can really notice the difference" claims Jason, owner of Kannon Beach, "I was really impressed at how close they were in warmth also. But if I had to make a choice, I would definately go with the new 5/4, no question".
So there you have it, you heard it here first.
Rumors are that Xcel is going to be releasing a new Drylock boot and glove next season.... now thats a scary thought. Instead of keeping people warm, they may be creating an army of winter surfers that will never get cold... and that, could be a problem.

Here at the shop we are preparing to send in another JS board order, so if you have any requests for custom shapes, please let someone at the shop know so we can your board made as soon as possible . These are some of the highest quality surfboards on the market today. JS test pilots include names like Adrian Buchan, Bruce Irons, Occy, Joel Parkinson and Andy Irons. Monday to Firday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
